📌 Role Details:

Student Admissions Counselor - Military Programs

Intellectual Point is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Career Advisor to join our enrollment team. Career Advisors will play a crucial role in supporting students, veterans, VRE Counselors, and other agency counselors  seeking to enroll students in high-tech certification programs. Your mission is to guide them through the admissions process, ensuring an efficient effective and customer focused transition into educational opportunities that align with their goals.


💸 Started Salary Range: $50k-70k, negotiable based on experience & abilities.
😊 Status: Salaried, Exempt position with no overtime.
📆 Desired Hire Date: Sep 16, 2024 or earlier if possible
📌 Location: Remote Position with limited travel. Requires adequate remote office space with internet access.

🌐 Responsibilities:

Student Engagement and Guidance:

  • Assist prospective students in understanding high-tech certification programs, admission requirements, and programs/opportunities available to them.

  • Provide personalized counseling to help students make informed decisions about their educational journey.

  • Assist students in aligning their educational choices with high-demand tech fields.

Agency and Counselor Partnerships:

  • Establish strong relationships with state offices, workforce development agencies, and vocational/educational counselors.

  • Leverage these partnerships to identify potential candidates and promote high-tech programs.

  • Participate in workshops and events to showcase school programs and the benefits.

  • Collaborate with counselors and agencies to streamline the enrollment process.

Enrollment Process:

  • Evaluate applicants’ qualifications, transcripts, and relevant experience.

  • Conduct interviews or informational sessions to assess candidates’ readiness for high-tech programs.

  • Facilitate the enrollment process, including course selection and registration.

  • Provide ongoing support to enrolled students throughout their educational journey.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and school policies with the enrollment process and inform students of appropriate requirements based on their funding.


🗝️ Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, counseling, military studies). Work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience working with special populations, to include veterans, military personnel, dependents, or VRE beneficiaries preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and empathy.

  • Knowledge of high-tech certification programs and their benefits.

  • Passion for post-secondary education and importance for escalating careers.

  • Military Experience Bonus:

    • While not mandatory, military experience or affiliation is considered a bonus for this role.

    • Veterans with relevant tech backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

    • Familiarity with education benefits programs (state or federal programs), and military service benefits and requirements preferred but not required.


✅ Remote Role Expectations

Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to operate personal equipment and apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input, and retrieve information from technology devices, and communicate with other to accomplish job requirements. While standard hours are 9:00AM – 6:00PM Monday – Friday EST, may be required to work outside of those hours based on institutional needs or student operations throughout the year.
